The heater core is a small radiator, located under the dashboard of the vehicle and consists of conductive aluminium or brass tubing with cooling fins to increase surface area. Hot coolant passing through the heater core gives off heat before returning to the engine cooling circuit. The fan for the vehicle's ventilation system forces air through the heater core to transfer heat from the coolant to the cabin air, which is directed into the vehicle through the vents. If there is a lack of hot coolant running through the heater core or less common, a pocket of air trapped in your heater core, the vents will not produce hot air.

Here's what I've rigged up for both pressure testing the cooling system and bleeding the clutch and brakes: I found an old bottle cap that has the same threads as the coolant reservoir. If you don't have such a cap, then an old coolant reservoir cap should work even better. When I need to use it, I take the gasket out of the coolant reservoir cap and use it in my pressure cap.

It has a rear inlet tube welded on at a right angle that connects to the external air intake via angled rubber hose, an early Ram-Air design if you will. The canister connects to the carburetor via a J-shaped hose on the engine side. This J-shaped hose clamps onto the canister cover containing the air filter.
